Locking and write protection
Locking in ODABA is based on database entries, i.e. indexes (collections) can be locked as well as instances. There are different techniques used for locking depending on the server mode of the process. Locking, however, is rather an algorithm than a technical implementation.
ODABA supports optimistic and pessimistic locking as well as read and write or resource locks. Some of the locking features are activated automatically, others might be called explicitly.
