base_path - Data area path

The data area path contains the physical path to the database. The database path might contain option variables, which have to be set to valid values, when creating a database. When referring to physical database definition, not all data areas need to be defined, but data areas defined need to be complete. In order to ensure database capacity, data areas with fixed size are allocated with the size requested in the definition.

Data areas with variable size are used as long as space is available. When the space limit is exceeded, the next data area (which should be defined on another storage device) will be used.
