controlled - Controlled extent

This option is set to true, when the extent is a controlled extent. Being a controlled extent is an option, which is set by the system. Extents defined as extents of persistent structures are always considered as controlled extents.

When defining view extents, one may disable the controlled option in order to avoid creating a shared extent resource for the application. In this case, the collection is not closed implicitly when closing the owning database object handle. Thus, the application must explicitly close the property handle before closing the database object handle.
