base collection

A base collection is a super set for another collections. Base collections can be defined as extents (base extent) or local collections relative to the current object instance. Base collections are defined on instance sets rather than on object sets, i.e. one may define a base collection for persons, which differs from a base collection of employees regardless on the objects person and employee instances are related to.
