database
A database is a collection of data items, which is ordered according to one or more predefined schemata. A database may store data items in a hierarchy of object spaces. Each database contains at least the root object space, which may have any number of subordinated object spaces, which may have subordinated object spaces again etc. The hierarchy of object spaces is an ad-hoc hierarchy and not defined by a schema.
Physically, a database can be divided in a number of main bases.
Concerning versioning, may become is a versioning scope in order to store time dependent data.
