on line schema evolution
On line schema evolution is a feature, which allows updating instances to a new schema version while running an application. Instances are stored according to the new schema version as soon, as they are updated.
The features for schema versions are limited to structural changes. ODABA does not support on line evolution, when the key structure for an index changes. Changing the index structure requires an off line upgrade of the database.
