Extended database features
Independent on the way accessing an ODABA database, ODABA provides a number of extended database features.
- Encoded database - In order to improve data security, ODABA allows encoding data to be stored using a binary access key.
- Storage formats - besides the ODABA storage, the database may be stored in XML text format, in a relational database (ORACLE. MS SQL or MySQL). XML and relational database format have been provided for research reasons (in order to prove the equivalence of data models) and are not really tested in practice. Moreover, these formats do not support most extended features.
